Known for hopping more than most, the Mad March Hare is an archetypal character from literature and couldn’t be left out of The Big Hop Trail. He has been painted to replicate the vintage feel of the etchings from John Tenniel, the earliest illustrator of Alice in Wonderland. The design is inspired by a visit to the V&A’s celebration of Lewis Carrol’s work.
Cat MacKenzie is a Scottish 3D artist and is thrilled to be included in The Big Hop Trail for Clan Cancer Support. She works as a bespoke milliner and head-dress maker, creating all sorts of 3D Papier-Mache models and art characters for online galleries. She is an all-round mixed-media 3D artist who also works in the HMT Wardrobe Department as a Theatre Dresser. Cat lives and works in the village of Durno just north of Inverurie.
