This sculpture represents the mountain hare in the phase where its coat is changing from grey brown for the summer, to white for the winter. The three hares circular motif has been used in two forms: the Moon Hare, a mythical creature in east Asian and indigenous American folklore; and the constellation Lepus (Latin for hare). There is also a variation on the Scottish Triquetra in the design.

Ann is an emerging artist. She recently finished her first year at Gray’s School of Art where she plans to complete a degree in painting. She is excited to see which direction this will take her and what her future holds as an artist.
