Every pupil in the school from Primary 1 to Secondary 4 art pupils got the chance to design the sculpture. We looked at examples on the Wild in Art website of previous sculpture trails. In class we discussed having a theme of Shetland and Unst because the community here plays such a big part in everyone’s life and the pupils wanted that to come across in their designs. They wanted to show off their favourite things about Shetland. These included the northern lights, Up Helly Aa, Fair Isle jumpers, crofting and landmarks within the Unst community.
