This hare is encased in a steel ‘thick skin’, symbolising an individual’s need to stay strong for themselves and their loved ones. The design was inspired by the artist’s family battles with cancer. Sometimes, the feeling that the world’s problems could just bounce off you would be a dream come true. John is primarily an installation based artist working with items that the public see every day. Taking inspiration from the world around and the day to day lives that people live, John tries to raise an eyebrow as viewers pass street signs, walls and industrial hoardings, aiming to bring a smile to passers-by before they move on with their day. John primarily works with spray paint and paper in the medium of paste-ups. Some work is large and in your face, others are small, unassuming and will only be found if you go looking. You can find John’s personal street art trail “Signs to make you smile” featuring inspirational quotes to take in as you pass by.
