This decorative design is inspired by the terrain of the hills and mountains here in Scotland, highlighting the Munros in Aberdeenshire. The design is filled with contour lines from maps, with the close lines showing the height and gradient of the steep journeys that we may have to navigate through life.
Louise Kirby is a designer who creates positive and meaningful designs combining colour and playful pattern. She creates bespoke print designs that capture a sense of place to connect people to the world around them. Her artwork has a positive playful feel which is created by contrasting patterns and meaningful references while retaining the hand drawn qualities of wonky lines and brush marks.
She graduated from DJCAD in Dundee in 1999 with an honours degree in Printed Textiles and creates her own range of illustrated gift products and designs bespoke artwork to improve positive wellbeing on a range of projects, collaborations and commissions in the public realm.
