The Big Hop 2023

The trail coincides with Clan’s 40th anniversary, with the 40 hares being the focal point to celebrate the charity’s commitment to supporting people affected by cancer.

Similar events have inspired all generations to take part and have genuine value – socially, culturally and economically. The trails introduce new businesses to the arts, injecting additional monies into the creative sector and developing new audiences to enjoy and explore the north-east’s unique qualities and cultural offer.

Start your trail journey early by downloading our digital map! Plan your route before our trail officially begins to get a head start on discovering our hare sculptures.

Printed maps will be available from various locations including all Clan Cancer Support centres and shops. A full list of map locations will be revealed soon.

Your donations create real change

With more than 20,000 people living with cancer across the region and people living longer with cancer, our support is now more vital than ever. We rely on donations to fund our £2.6 million annual running costs, making initiatives like The Big Hop Trail incredibly important in ensuring we continue to provide lifeline services to people affected by a cancer diagnosis.
